Chris & Tammy’s Calderwood Hall Wedding

Chris and Tammy’s gorgeous wedding took place on a very chilly day in the KZN Midlands at Calderwood Hall. When we got there, the place was buzzing with activity. Speeches were being rehearsed, shirts were being ironed and friends and family were being welcomed.

This venue is not only beautiful, but so charming and full of character – the perfect setting for the next chapter in their love story to unfold. The excitement was visible and as I was photographing, I couldn’t help but notice the joy of both families as they were re-united with loved ones who had travelled across the globe to be there. Some had not seen each other in many years.

Tammy and her girls were definitely a fun bunch and lots of laughs were had while they glammed up for the big day. One of my favourite moments at a wedding is when the father of the bride sees his daughter in her wedding dress for the first time. Tears welled up in everyone’s eyes as the doors opened and he saw his little girl. Another one of my favourite moments at their wedding was when the flower girl and page boy peeped through the keyhole into the bridal suite because they just COULD NOT WAIT any longer to see the bridal party. Finally the doors opened and their little faces were priceless. Needless to say when it was time for them to walk down the isle, their little faces were still beaming.

Then the weather did its crazy midlands thing and one by one guests sought shelter in the Manor House as the temperatures dropped to what felt like 5 degrees! It was probably not 5 degrees if I’m honest…but most of us girls were still dressed for summer! Well done for braving the cold during our photo shoot! You were such troopers! So as the sun disappeared and the teeth started chattering uncontrollably, we made our way back to start the evening festivities. With a huge cheer the guests welcomed Mr & Mrs Pitchers into the beautifully decorated reception.

Chris and Tammy’s wedding decor was classic and elegant with white flowers and lanterns. The candy bar was definitely a hit and drew in old and young alike who regularly filled up bags of candy throughout the evening. I still can’t believe they had special M&M’s with their faces printed on them! I never knew you could print your face on a smarty-sized bit of candy! With hearty food in their bellies and a good laugh from the various speeches, it was time to start dancing! And dance they did! Chris and Tammy thank you so much for choosing Anja Meyer Photography to capture your wedding day! I wish you a lifetime of happiness together and hope this next chapter in your story is as beautiful as your wedding was.
